Mosquito

These days, some talk about fellow human beings as being “human garbage”. Others try to sleep in garbage as they wait for a miracle.

Nothing new.

“Mosquito, she had said, had asked Ear to marry him, whereupon Ear fell on the floor in uncontrollable laughter. ‘How much longer do you think you will live?’ she asked. ‘You are already a skeleton.’ Mosquito went away humiliated, and any time he passed her way he told Ear that he was still alive.”

– Chinua Achebe

Mosquito

The darkest sun
Got it down eyelids drawn
Mosquito mosquito
Wastes the tic tac of time
Mosquito mosquito
I crossed the line but didn't
Know how to come back
Mosquito mosquito
Coma is gone but
I'm lost to human garbage

drum drama drum

No words will make it up
In the numb dump

drum drama drum

Drip drop
Drip drop
Too late to say sorry is
Drum drama drum
Mosquito mosquito
Say sorry too and go
So I can go back to bed
With or without dreams
Of the darkest sun

Mosquito mosquito
What about a fortune cookie
With a win-win inspirational quote
To finish it off?
"The essence of non-violent technique is
that it seeks to liquidate antagonisms
but not the antagonists."
- Gandhi
